Although contact lens are a great way to correct your vision, we recommend that you always have an up to date pair of spectacles.

Our contact lens assessment and fitting are provided by our Optometrist that are not only specialised in the education of the latest contact lens technologies and advanced fitting techniques but also have a wealth of knowledge on the health of the eye.
We are able to fit all types of contact lenses, from daily disposables to RGP, making all parameters of correction possible.
We are proud to announce that we are a Partnership practice for both Cooper Vision and Johnson & Johnson, which means new contact lens products and materials launched to the British market are first made available to our practice. We are one of the first practice’s that have been licensed to fit Misight daily disposables contact lenses for the treatment of myopia control.
Contact lenses for children
Fiona Watt Optometrists are able fit Contact lenses in Wimbledon at our independent practice and can be worn by children as young as nine.
A child’s maturity and ability to handle contact lenses responsibly is more important than age alone. Children naturally adapt to contact lens wear and are highly motivated to wear contact lenses, making them excellent candidates.
Contact lens wear can be beneficial to children giving them good all round vision, are more convenience for sports and leisure activities and improve self-confidence and self-esteem. If children don’t like the way they look like in glasses, it can affect their personality and performance in school. Many sky kids come out of their shell once they start to wear contact lenses. Some contact lenses also give added ultra violet protection.
If your child would like to consider wearing contact lenses, we recommend you book a contact lens assessment. Our optometrist will discuss with you and your child the reasons they want to wear contact lenses, the importance of your child taking responsibility for looking after the contact lens and good hygiene. The most suitable lens will be suggested according to your child’s requirements. They will also be shown how to insert and remove their lenses. Children would need to apply and remove contact lenses without their parents. Children as well as adults usually need to make two appointments of insertion and removal before being given trial lenses to go home in. Our optical team are very encouraging when teaching and the key is not to give up!
If after the assessment, your child feels they are not quite ready, we suggest they do not give up and return back to us at a later date.
