FIONA WATT optometrists
"My two children needed glasses from the age of 2 (they are now 17 and 21). Whilst for us it was a bewildering experience (and not something we were expecting), everyone at the practice has been fantastic over the years and we have benefited hugely from their extensive experience, advice and ongoing professional care.
Both started using contacts from the age of 8 (thank you for all the patience with those fitting lessons!) and subsequently have been able to play sport to a high level (County lacrosse for one and A team rugby for the other).
Thank you from all of us!"
We offer a specialist children’s range of spectacles, including sports protection, as well as prescription goggles (for skiing or for swimming)
Not only do they offer the fashion element so many discerning children demand these days, they also allow for special fitting options for the smaller face and features.
If you suspect that there is anything wrong, make an appointment with us as soon as possible. Here are some common signs to look for:
It is most likely that everything will be fine, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.
The sooner any problems are detected the quicker they can be helped and your child can start to fully enjoy their vision again.
We understand that for children, having their eyes tested can be a daunting experience, especially if it is for the first time.
All our staff are comfortable with children and we try to make the whole experience as fun as possible for everyone. We recommend sight tests from the age of three upwards. If your child is younger than this and you suspect an eye problem you are more than welcome to attend for a test to assess any needs.
We offer a wide range of spectacles to fit children and our experienced Dispensing Optician will ensure a perfect fit, and even custom made frames are available if needed.
